Mentee
From the Director

Hello. My name is Ruth Gordon and I am very happy to be the Director of our area's only Mentor Center. The fact that you are here, at this Web site, shows that you too have an interest in the welfare of our children in Carson City. Mentoring is a fun, simple and flexible way to make a difference. We have just three goals at the Center: To build

  • SELF CONFIDENCE,
  • SOCIAL COMPETENCE, and
  • CARING.

All of our youth need these three qualities to become successful people in the world today. Given these goals, they can accomplish anything!

Our role as Mentors is to be that guide, that trusted friend that enables the kids to find that they already posess these skills, they just needed a little help unwrapping them.

If you are interested in possibly becoming a mentor, or if you know someone you think might make a good mentor, please call me. I would love to talk with you.

Thank you,
Ruth
